We are deeply saddened by the passing of Nelly Micholt.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Nelly Micholt.

💜 Born in Bruges, Belgium, Nelly brought to Transactional Analysis curiosity, precision, and warmth that shaped her life. She worked in both the organisational and clinical fields, becoming a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst, and served on EATA and ITAA boards and committees, always building bridges between people and ideas.

💜 Her thinking and training combined clarity, structure, and deep humanity. She was passionate about roles, organisational and professional scripts, and how people give themselves permission to grow and change. She also contributed to TA literature, notably through her article “Psychological Distance and Group Interventions,” where she expanded English’s (1975) concept of the three-cornered contract by adding the idea of psychological distance and exploring its implications for group leadership and dynamics.

💜 Nelly’s commitment, insight, and gentle humour touched many in the TA community across Europe. We remember her with deep gratitude for her contributions and for the integrity and generosity with which she lived her values.

💜 Our heartfelt condolences go to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege to know and work with her.
