Building a TA Research Network in Kazakhstan

In this photo (from top left):
Elina Belyaeva (PTSTA, Germany), Enrico Benelli (TDRC Chair, PhD, TSTA, Italy), Madina Alimgozhayeva (Kazakhstan), Lorena Pizzocri (Psychologist, PhD Student, Italy), and Bakhytzhan Akanova (Kazakhstan).

What are they doing?
Together with colleagues, they are laying the groundwork for a Transactional Analysis research network in Kazakhstan!

🔍 What is a research network for?
It’s a collaborative space that links TA theory development with practical areas like manualization, diagnostic systems, teaching, supervision, and applied research. This network will explore both the efficacy and effectiveness of TA in real-world settings (see figure for framework).

💡 Why is research important in TA?
Research plays a vital role in securing the credibility and recognition of TA across countries. For instance, TA professionals in Slovenia were recently asked by their government to demonstrate how TA is supported by scientific research.
A research network like this strengthens the bridge between TA development and national acceptance as a respected and evidence-informed practice.

We look forward to seeing how this initiative will evolve—and contribute to the wider TA community!

Check out Newsletter 143 – June 2025 for the detailed framework image that outlines the network’s structure.
