Thank you Cathy McQuaid – Past PTSC Chair

At the 2025 EATA Council meeting in Bucharest, Cathy McQuaid passed the torch as PTSC Chair to the new chair, Rosanna Giacometto. We want to take this moment to thank Cathy for all the incredible work she’s done on the committee—especially her leadership on the updates and changes of EATA Handbook and for kicking off exciting new projects to improve the exam process.

In recognition of her contributions, Cathy was awarded the CoC Silver Medal, presented by CoC Chair Christoph Seidenfus.

And what does Cathy have to say about handing over the role?

“As I have come to the end of my time as Chair of PTSC, I want to take a moment to thank you all for your patience, your engagement, your trust, and your continued commitment to the development of TA training and examinations.

Serving in this role has been a privilege. It has given me the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from across our international community, whose diverse approaches and experiences have both challenged and enriched my thinking.

I leave this role with deep respect for the many ways you, the membership, all contribute – whether as coaches, counsellors, educators, examiners, organisational consultants, practitioners, psychotherapists, supervisors, trainees, trainers, or in any other role. Your efforts continue to shape a professional culture that values both rigour and humanity.

The new joint EATA/ITAA project to modernise the CTA exam has only just begun, and I’m confident that with your enthusiasm and support, it will thrive – guided by the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and aiming to create a robust exam process that truly meets the needs of all our members and is fit for the future.

There is always more to do, and that’s part of what makes our work meaningful and alive. I feel confident that the next chapter of PTSC’s work, chaired by Rosanna Giacometto, will be shaped with integrity, collaboration, and a clear sense of purpose.

Thank you again — it has been an honour to serve.”

Thank you Cathy and all the best to you and your loved ones ❤️
