Sezgin Bekir – New EATA vice president

We’re pleased to welcome one of the newly elected EATA Vice Presidents, chosen during the Council meeting in Bucharest. Please meet Sezgin Bekir, who is sharing a few words about himself.

We wish Sezgin all the best in his new role!

“I am from Bulgaria and I am an Assoc. prof. at the Institute for Population and Human Studies – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. At the same time, I participate in the implementation of research in the field of personality psychology, work and organizational psychology. My journey in transactional analysis began 13 years ago, when I joined the 101 course, organized for the second time in Bulgaria. I have passed all the stages of TA training and successfully apply it in my professional practice as a clinical psychologist, trainer and researcher. In 2013, three colleagues and I founded Bulgarian association for transactional analysis, and since 2019 I have been a national delegate in EATA.

My election as Vice President is a great honor and trust placed in me and at the same time a mighty responsibility to EATA and the TA community in Europe. I believe that digital transformation will enable EATA to be closer to its members, to become more visible and therefore to grow and develop. As vice president I will rely on the experience and knowledge of all EC members, and my aspiration will be to build together on what has already been achieved. I will focus my efforts on supporting research in the four areas of application and the recognition of TA as an effective theoretical and psychotherapeutic approach in all EATA members countries.”
