PTSC NEWS – Update on the submission timeline for Written Exams

Dear colleagues, PTSC has been working in cooperation with COC, the Supervising Examiner, the EATA Language coordinators, local exam supervisors and others involved in the CTA exam process. One of the issues being faced by the language coordinators and CTA exam candidates is that often a lack of time between the written exam evaluation process being completed and the candidate needing to apply for their their oral exam.

Therefore, PTSC has decided that from 1st January 2026 all written exams need to be submitted 9 months before the date of the planned oral exam. This will give the Language Coordinator 6 months to have the exam evaluation process completed before the candidate needs to apply for the oral exam 3 month before their exam date.

We appreciate this is a significant revision to our current timetable and this is why we are giving over 12 months notice of the planned change so candidates and their Principal Supervisors have time to adjust to the new requirement. The handbook will be updated in due course.

Thank you for your understanding
PTSC
