Let’s Talk: Reflecting on Our First Conversation

On April 24th, the EATA Executive Committee hosted the very first session of “Let’s Talk” — our new platform for open exchange within the community. As shared in previous meetings and newsletters, “Let’s Talk” is designed to create space for spontaneous, interactive, and direct conversations on the topics that matter most to us.

This inaugural session focused on the role of a delegate—exploring expectations, responsibilities, challenges, and the meaningful rewards that come with the role. It was an engaging and honest discussion, with current delegates sharing their experiences and insights. Members of the Executive Committee, including the President and General Secretary, were present and actively participated in the conversation.

Together, we unpacked what it really means to take on this role and how we can better support those stepping into it in the future. Your input helped shape our ongoing conversation about refining the delegate job description within the Council.

This was just the beginning. Future “Let’s Talk” sessions will expand to include more members and explore a wider range of topics you care about. We’re excited to see this space grow into a vibrant forum for open dialogue, connection, and shared learning.
