Exploring Communication Through a DEIA Lens

Recently, EATA’s Communications Committee met with members of the DEIA Task Force to explore how communication can better reflect and support principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. It was a rich and thought-provoking exchange, skillfully guided by DEIA representatives John Fleming and Lana Koval, who led the committee through a process of reflection and dialogue.

The conversation touched on key areas such as cultural differences, collaboration with National Associations, and the current use of EATA’s communication channels—including the website, media platforms, and translation practices. The group also discussed how to shape a more inclusive communication strategy and the kinds of policies that might naturally follow.

This meeting marked an important step toward aligning EATA’s communication practices with its commitment to inclusivity and cross-cultural awareness.
