We are introducing the next colleague – EATA delegate – in the #checkinginwithdelegates project.
She is Deniz Güney from Turkey.
What does she have to say about her experience as an EATA delegate?
“As a delegate in EATA, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to be in constant communication with a wide regional TA community. In terms of my national association, which is still a relatively small group, this role provides an essential bridge which enables Turkish TA practitioners to learn from a larger pool of knowledge and experience and see how TA is implemented and spread in different countries. With the help of this communication and the insights it provides, we are increasing the awareness and practice of TA in Turkey. In my role I feel that I am empowered to give a voice to our association. Back in 2022 after the massive earthquakes in Turkey, I personally experienced how vital this voice can be. Through the direct support of EATA we were able to put on a TA training programme for schoolteachers in the disaster zone and support them in their interactions with traumatised children.
As a member of the Communications Committee (CC), I feel that I help to shape the way EATA presents itself to the wider professional community. I also enjoy the interaction opportunities that this requires with other committees and parties and the feeling of being up to date with developments in the world of TA.”
Another delegate colleague will be introduced soon…
