The European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) voted in March 2025 to require a minimum of 250 hours of in-depth psychotherapy in a period of 4 years, to all those who want to be awarded with the ECP certificate. It was also voted that the psychotherapist providing the psychotherapy must not be the supervisor and the trainer.

The Scientific and Research Committee (SARC) of EAP is continuing to put research behind the core-competencies – a project involving all modalities. An EATA member has been fulfilling this role on a temporary basis but we now need someone to step in and to join the committee.
